Biography
Joseph Chaffin was born about 1729 in Colony of Virginia. His father was John Chaffin. His mother was Mary (Unknown last name.) He reportedly died in 1812 in Bedford, Virginia but a source is needed for this information.
Joseph is named in his father's will as follows: ""Item I give to my son Joseph Chaffin the land and plantation whereon I now live containing two hundred acres to him and his heirs forever. I likewise give to my said son Joseph all the rest and residue of my estate of what nature or quality so ever and lastly I do appoint my son Joseph Chaffin executor of this my last will and testament."[1]
