Biography
Annie Chamberlain Monfries was born on the 10th May 1863 in Guernsey, Channel Islands, the daughter of John Lawrie Monfries and Charlotte Chamberlain[1]
From 1883 to 1885, Annie worked as head teacher at the Carisbrooke Infant National School on the Isle of Wight, leaving in the May of 1885[2] probably as she was about to be married.
On the 23rd June 1885, Annie Chamberlain Monfries married Richard Morgan[3] at the Presbyterian Church, Cardiff, Glamorganshire, Wales[4].
"MARRIAGES- MORGAN - MONFRIES - June 23rd (1885), at the Presbyterian Church, Cardiff, by the Rev. J. D. Watters, M.A., Richard, eldest son of Charles Morgan of Roath, Cardiff, to Annie Chamberlain, fourth daughter of the late James Lawrie Monfries of Pwllypant. No. Cards"[4]
