Basil Hall Chamberlain was born on October 18, 1850 to William Charles Chamberlain and Elizabeth Jane Hall. He was christened on Dec. 25 1850 in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England, United Kingdom.[1]
In the 1851 census he can be found living with his grandmother Margaret as well as his mother at Queens Terrace in Southsea.[2]
