Biography
The third of four children born to Joseph and Martha T (Putnam) Chamberlain in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Martha Ann married Francis Leighton Fletcher in Westford, where the young couple settled. At the age of 28, she gave birth to their son and only child, Hugh Francis Fletcher, but passed away just months after his birth. She is buried next to her husband at Fairview Cemetery in Westford. Interestingly, her tombstone displays her age and date of death as well as a touching tribute to his deceased wife, but her name isn't given.
