1776 Project
Jacob Champion served with South Carolina Militia during the American Revolution.

When Jacob Shadrack Champion was born in 1750 in Kershaw, South Carolina, his father, William, was 42 and his mother, Tabitha, was 34. He married Anne Martin in 1776 in his hometown. They had 13 children in 27 years. He died on June 12, 1832, in Kershaw, South Carolina, having lived a long life of 82 years.

Jacob Shadrach Champion is a proved Patriot of the American Revolution. Records of DAR indicate that he had SC Militia Service in 1781 & 1782; 1) MILITIA, COLS KIMBALL, MARSHALL, 1781-2; 2) COLLECTED CATTLE & DROVE WAGGON, 1781
