Biography

Philip George Wildgoose Champion was baptised on 10 February 1828 in Bristol by parents George and Rebecca. George was a Mariner. [1]

From a biography of his half brother George; Philip, a half brother of our subject, became a seaman, and was later a mate on a ship running from Boston to Vera Cruz, Mexico. He came to the United States prior to the removal of the rest of the family. While returning from a trip to Vera Cruz, his death occurred, and he was buried at sea, in the Gulf of Mexico.[2]:
