Birth
Research note Unable to find a definite, provable birth record for Walter... Stanford Mill doesn't seem to exist now. There are 2 possible birth records, one in Portsea in 1856 and one in Alton in 1858. Have searched Findmypast.co.uk and Familysearch.org
Confirmation of birth date and place found on Census 1901[1]. Walter and his family were living with his mother-in-law, Harriet Carpenter, a widow, at Liphook, Petersfield, Hampshire Walter was a grocer and shopkeeper, age 44. Also in the household are Emily his wife, age 41, and their children Emily D, Olive, Elsie, Annie and Walter V.

Death Unable to find any record for Walter after 1901 census. Searched Findmypast.co.uk and Familysearch.org.
