In 1860 the U.S. Census recorded farmer John Chandler, 41, and Amy T. Chandler, 35, in Kennett Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, with Morris B. Chandler, 1 (their son), Walter Shortlidge, 13, and Martha Nelson, 15. All were born in Pennsylvania.[1] The 1870 U.S. Census recorded the family in East Marlborough Township (Unionville post office), Chester County, Pennsylvania. Household members were farmer John Cooper, 58; Amy F. Chandler, 47; Morris B. Chandler, 12; Annie B. Chandler, 7; and Orphia Kirk, 74. All were recorded as born in Pennsylvania.[2]
