Whitfield was born in 1782. He died in 1874 at the age of 91.
Research Notes
There is a Whitfield Chandler listed as having served in the War of 1812 as a Sergeant in the 2nd Regiment (Patterson's) of the Pennsylvania Militia.
Whitfield is mentioned as a messenger in the minutes of the Goshen Baptist Church in Greene County, Pennsylvania on 8/27/1825.
Whitfield wrote a will dated 9/26/1865 that mentions his wife, Mary and her 2 sons, John L. and Asam.
In Shelby County, Indiana in 10/1871, William Moore is appointed guardian of Whitfield Chandler, age 89. William Moore reports that recently the wife of his ward, an aged and infirm lady, departed this life.
Whitfield and Mary lived in Sugar Creek township in Shelby County, Indiana.
Jesse Chandler takes his father to Illinois in 1872.
