I know that the 1860 Census shows an Abby G for Francis and Lucy. Maybe Abby was visiting them. It is fairly obvious that they took her under their wing at some point. Lucy calls Abby her daughter in her will. However, Lucy leaves what is left over of her estate to her other three children to be divided equally, not naming Abby. In the 1850 Census for Francis and Lucy, she isn't mentioned. However, in the 1850 and 1860 Census for Duty and Abby Greene, there is an Abby P.T. Greene. I believe that this is her. In one of their son's marriage records, her maiden name is given as Greene.
Oh, it gets more confusing. In Abby P (Truman) Greene's will, she names a nephew and her niece "Abby P Chapman, but commonly known as Abby P Greene." That makes it seem like she was a Chapman, but raised by the Greene's.
Aldrich-1284 and Chapman-2869 appear to represent the same person because: Aldrich-1284 has some errors, and her Last Name at Birth seems to be set to her married name; otherwise, dates and locations match.
