Biography

Rachel Chapman was born on 31 December 1865 in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand.^[1] He was the fifth of 15 children born to English immigrants Samuel Chapman and Elizabeth Mealing who had married on 10 January 1856 in Christchurch.
