Biography
23 January, 1824, Henry Parks Chappell, was born in Walton County Georgia, to William Sr. & Margaret Cooper Chappell.
08 December, 1842, Georgia, Meriwether County. William Chappell's will to son Henry Parks Chappell: 3rd., I wiil and bequeath to my son Henry Parks Chappell a ball bay horse that I now own, a sow and pigs, two sheep and a cow, also the same amount of the other as the rest of the boys has had, with two volumes of the New Testament Commentaries by Clark.
05 December, 1844, in Morgan Co., Georgia, Henry Parks Chappell, and Margaret Elizabeth Speer were married.

Census 2: 1860, Southern Division, Coosa County, Alabama, Rockford Post Office.
Henry Parks Chappell enlisted in the service of the State, or Confederate States, a Private in Company B, 46th Regiment, Alabama Volunteers on the 15th day of October, 1863 from Montgomery in the State of Alabama, and that he was honorably discharged from such service on the 15th day of August, 1864, that he did not desert the service of the Confederate States, or of the State of Alabama. While in the discharge of his duty, he was wounded in the Battle of Resacca, in the State of Georgia, 16th May 1864. He was shot with a Miniball thru the right ankle, losing part of the bone. This caused the ankle to become stiff, causing partial loss of use in the right leg & hip.

September 21st, 1907. Before me, H. J. Lancaster, Judge of Probate in the State of Alabama, Elmore County, personally appeared H.P. Chappell, who being by me duly sworn, says that he is a Confederate Soldier now on the pension roll of the State of Alabama. He further says that he will be 83 years of age January 3rd, 1908, and is entitled to be placed on the First Class of Confederate Pensions, and that he is also blind.
June 1908, The State of Alabama, Elmore County. Before me, W.J. Knowles, a Justice of the Peace in and for said County in said State personally appeared Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Chappell, Who being by me first duly sworn deposeth, and saith that she was born on the 13th. day of September 1826, and that she is the widow of Henry Parks Chappell, Deceased, who departed this life on the 30th. of November, 1907, and that he was a Confederate Soldier, and was born on the 23rd. of January, 1824. Signed: Mrs. M.E. (X, her mark) Chappell Sworn to and subscribed before me this the 1st. Day of June, 1908. Signed : W.J. Knowles, Justice of the Peace.
