Research Notes

Some kind of confusion in the marriage as his mother is purportedly Elizabeth Briggs but he is also married to another Elizabeth Briggs and the other marriage source has him married to Sally Hines, could that be his son, yet another James?

  • Yes, Sally Hines was married to James Chappell, III. Strutton-11 15:43, 8 December 2021 (UTC)

James, Jr.'s mother Elizabeth (Briggs) Chappell was the daughter of Henry Briggs and Elizabeth Lucas. James, Jr's wife Elizabeth (Briggs) Chappell was the daughter of William Briggs and Mary Cooke. Need to attach James Chappell (1746-) as son of this James Chappell. They were proposed as a match, but that has been removed.
Done. Please let me know if I screw it up! Thanks again for your efforts on these families.

Chappell-539 and Chappell-727 do not represent the same person because: Chappell-727 is father of Chappell-539, so should not merge. Need to attach correctly as father/son.
