David W Charles was born on December 8,1810 in Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina.[1] He was the son of John M Charles and Elizabeth Garrison.
He married Caroline Frances Sullivan (1815-1889) ca 1836 in Greenville, South Carolina. They had at least 8 children.
They were in Carthage, Leake Couty, Mississippi in 1860, where he was a Farmer, and she was taking care of thehome and family, Eliza-23, John-21, Joseph-16, Marah-14, James-12, Mary-10, David-8, and Laura-4.[2] In 1870, they were on a Farm in Madixon County, Mississippi.[3]
He died on April 14, 1882, at the age of 71, in Fairfield, Freestone County, Texas, and was buried in the Cotton Gin Cemetery in Cotton Gin, Freestone County, Texas.[1]
