Ezra Chase was born on Feb. 4, 1796 in Colrain, Franklin, Massachusetts, the son of
Timothy Chase and Sarah Simmons Chase. He was the brother of Sisson Chase (1786 - 1864), Thurston Chase (1788 - 1869), Isaac Chase (1791 - 1861) and Sylvia Green (1801 - 1876). [1]
Ezra was a very early LDS convert (from Quakerism), and pioneer to Utah in Brigham Young's company. [2]
Ezra married Tirzah Wells. They had the following children:
Nancy Bailey Chase Farr (1823 - 1892)
Charlotte Chase Hurd (1825 - 1904) a plural wife of Heber Kimball[3]
Diana Severance Chase Shaw (1827 - 1886)
Elisha Wells Chase (1830 - 1917)
Henry Chase (1832 - 1910)
Dudley Chase (1835 - 1906)
Newton Chase (1837 - 1918)
Juliette Chase McClellan (1841 - 1911)
Ezra died October 24, 1873 and was buried in Ogden City Cemetery, Ogden, Weber County, Utah. [4]
