Biography

Harvey Herman Chase was born in Thornton, NH to Joseph Chase and Abigail Eaton Chase. He married Sibyl Hall in Hanover, NH 17 October 1819. She was the daughter of Ithamar Hall and Beulah Eaton Hall. They had one son, Ithamar Hall Chase, born October 1820. Sibyl died six weeks later:

"Chase, Sybbel, wife of Harvey Chase d. 12.4.1820". Buried at Hanover Center Cemetery. She was 19 years of age.

Harvey Herman took as a second wife, 20 March 1821, Sibyl's older sister Persey. They had seven children together: Jonathan Eaton, Joseph, Erastus William, Alfred Hall, Sybil Persey, Philander Hall, and Harvey Benjamin Chase.

Harvey was working in Massachusetts mills in Worcester and in Lowell - as an overseer - by the 1850s.

Harvey Herman Chase died the 16th of January 1869 of consumption in Lowell, Massachusetts at the age of 70 years and 8 months. He was listed as a mechanic, and as the son of Joseph and Abigail Chase.
