Biography

Jacob Chase married twice: first, to Prudence Hills; and second, to Mrs. Dorothy Colby Worthen about 1776.

He moved to Chester about 1750. He and his wife, Prudence, joined the Congregational Church in 1756.

Revolutionary Service. Jacob Chase was a private in Captain Stephen Dearborn's Company, Thomas Stickney's Regiment, General Stark's Brigade (1777). Battle of Bennington.

Committee of Inspection or Safety, 1775. Committee to equalize soldiers' pay, 1777. Committee to hire men for Continental service, 1777, 1779, 1780.

Representative, State Convention, 1780, 1782.

Burial: Chester Village Cemetery Chester Rockingham County New Hampshire
