Stephen Chase, was the son of Stephen Chase and Jane Wingate[1]

Stephen was born 22 June 1742 at New Hampshire(?).[2] He was the fifth child of seven born to Stephen Chase and Jane Wingate.[2]

Stephen was the second _Stephen_ born into his family. His younger brother died at about the age of four

Harvard

Stephen attended Harvard College and graduated in 1764.[2] He was quite a literary scholar.[2] Stephen was responsible for writing the Constitution and By-Laws as one of the founders of the Portsmouth Athenaeum, a private library and hub of education and culture.[2]

Stephen died in 1805 at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, USA.[2]
