Biography

Emily Sitton was enumerated at Post Office Lafayette, The Town District, Walker County, Georgia for the June 8, United States Census, 1860. She was noted as born 1823 in Georgia. She had $150 in value of real estate and $180 in value of personal estate as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are male Raney Chastain, female Mary Chastain, female Emanda C Sitton, male Wiley C Sitton, female Malisa A Sitton and female Elizabeth L Sitton.^[1]

Emily Chastain was listed as the mother of Amenda Burns who died November 2, 1929 in Walker County, Georgia. The father was listed as N R Sutton and the husband Jerry Burns.^[2]

Mrs. Emily Chastain Sitton is buried at LaFayette Cemetery in LaFayette, Walker County, Georgia.^[3]
