He was noted as a farm laborer, born 1863 in Georgia and single as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are self Ren L Chastain, wife Esther C Chastain, son John L Chastain, daughter Marsha A A Chastain and daughter Amand L Chastain.^[2]
