Biography

Robert Cheney, born ca 1490, is the earliest known ancestor of New England immigrant Agnes Cheney Heath. His wife's name is unknown and is not mentioned in the will he made in October 1542. It contains bequests to "John Down," "Wyllyam Donne his brother." "Robert Cheyney my sonne," "Annes my daughter."

Heath-Johnson-Morris Update: The Ancestry of Agnes (Cheney) Heath. It has details listing a Robert as father but wife unkown, and a Robert as Grandfather.

Hello PM: Direct Ancestor here. Up to this point I've verified child to parents via authoritative records such as I'm about to quote which states his father was Robert Cheney. This same source also states his spouse is Joan Harrison and he was born 1520. Sounds like our boy here to me. :-) Source: NEHGR: vol.149:pg.175. One other thing: He wasn't a Lord.
