When Herbert Cherry was born on August 27, 1901, his father, James, was 48 and his mother, Easter, was 42. He married Elsie Cora Dover on July 11, 1925. They had five children together in 12 years time. He died on February 6, 1989, in Glencoe, Arkansas, at the age of 87.
