Biography

Dessa Cherry was born in Tennessee 14 Oct 1897 in Union Hill, Clay, Tennessee, daughter of Boyd Stanton Cherry (1861-1938) and Mary Craton Short (1867-1962).^[1]

In 1900, she was enumerated as "Bessie M."^[2]

She married Hobart Rich 16 Jul 1920 in Clay Co., Tennessee.^[3]

Hobart was born 16 Jan 1897, son of William Rich and Chalotta Caufelt; he died 29 Jun 1965.^[4]

In 1930, Hobart and "Desie" were in Clay, Tennessee.^[5]

In 1940, Hobart and Dessa, with several children, were living in Moss, Clay, Tennessee.^[6]

Dessie died in 1986.^[7]
