Biography

Anthony Chevalier was born in 1898 in Canada, the son of Napoleon and Marie Chevalier.

The Chevalier family immigrated to the United States in 1905. Napoleon Chevlier died in Detroit, Michigan in 1909.

In 1910, the Chevalier family lived in Hantramck, Wayne, Michigan. The household included Mary (Marie) Chevalier, 45, a widow, born In Canada, whose parents were French Canadian. She rented their house. Mary/Marie had had 13 children, five of whom were living; her five children, all born in Canada, and whose father was French Canadian: Peter, 19, an auto mechanic, and a student; Mary (Marie), 14, in school; Anthony, 12, in school; Daniel, 7, in school; and Alfonza (son, Alphonse). All could read and write except for the baby.[1]
