Research Notes
Possible christening (Axmouth is only 5 miles from Axminster):
Thomas Chick, son of Thomas & Elizabeth, was baptised on 9 August 1761 in Axmouth, Devon, England.[7]
His marriage was in Thorncombe. “Thorncombe /ˈθɔːrnkəm/ is a village and civil parish in the English county of Dorset. It was historically, until 1844, an exclave of Devon. It lies five miles (8 km) south east of the town of Chard in neighbouring Somerset.”[8] Hence another possible christening is: Thomas Chick, son of Robert Chick & Ruth, was baptised on 7 October 1761 in Chard, Somerset, England.[9]
