Naomi was the fifth child, born 12 July 1903,[1] to Thomas Clingman Childers, Jr, and Bertha Franklin Childers. She was among the children who grew up in the remote cove of Swain County called Couches Creek. (see Space: Couches Creek)
When Naomi Childers married Ellis Ayers on 12 Oct 1928, in Gastonia, NC, she resided there (where, according to her daughter Doris, she was probably employed in one of the cotton mills).
After marriage, she and Ellis resided mostly near Canton, Haywood County, NC, at 92 Buckeye Cove Road, where they raised their four children.[2]
Buried in Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Clyde, NC.
