Biography
North Carolina marriage bonds could be issued a day or two before the actual date of the marriage. Ministers' returns were not kept by the county clerks at times. The date of marriage is given in some sources as January 1, 1855, but documentation is needed. The date of the bond is given here as the marriage date, but that may be a little inexact.
