Purchased land 1731 from Thomas Harrington. In 1760 his claim against his mother-in-law at her death was allowed by the town council in their settlement of her estate. His name does not appear on records after 1765. Rufus b 1718 @ West Quadomset, Rhode I d before May 1762; m 22 Nov 1754 @ Smithfield, R.I. Dorcus MANN b 27 Jun 1731, as shown in her father's will. She was d/o John MANN (1695-1782) & Abigail (ARNOLD) Mann who died in 1775. They resided in Smithfield, R. I., in 1754, but May 8 (or 11) 1762, she as widow, came with her child, Ahab, to Rutland, Mass. [citation needed]
