Biography
Jean-Baptiste Choret was born on July 9, 1687 and baptized the next day in St-Pierre, Île d'Orléans, Montmorency, Quebec, New France.[1]
He was the son of Jean Chorest and Claire Baucher.
He married Marie Anne Ouellet about 1711.
They had the following children:
- Marie Josephte Choret b. 1712
- Marguerite Choret b. 1713
- Jeanne Choret b. 1715
- Jean Baptiste Choret b. 1719
- François Choret b. 1724
- Marie Anne Angelique Choret b. 1726
- Marie Veronique Choret b. 1726
He was buried on June 13, 1777 in Saint-Louis-de-Kamouraska, Quebec. He was 89 years old, although his burial record says he was 106.[2]
