In 1911, at the age of 17, Willard was living in Thetford Mines, with his father, step mother.

Andrew's early schooling was in Lower Ireland and later in Thetford Mines. Afterwards he attended a business college in Belleville, Ontario.

On 6 February 1918, he enlisted in the Canadian Military as a Private, with the 1St Depot Battalion, 2nd. Quebec Regiment. At the time he was living in Thetford Mines West and working as a Stenographer. The unit was demobilized and he was discharged later that year, 1 August, 1918.

By 1921, at the age of 27, Williard was listed as living in two places. First, in Inverness township, Mégantic(where the Christie family farm, Clapham, is located). He was living with his grandmother, Agnes (Johnston) Christie, aged 75 yrs.

Secondly, he is also listed as living in Thetford Mines, 78 Alfred Street, with his father, step mother and sister, Ethel.

Willard married Isabella Rose Ward on 12 September 1922 at Christ Church, Lower Ireland, Megantic, Quebec.

Together, the couple had 5 children.
In 1946, Andrew Willard Christie was elected the first mayor of the newly founded municipality of Saint-Jean-de-Brébeuf, Quebec. He served as mayor for 9 years.
[4] On 1 June 2003, the newly constructed bridge on Craig's Road (Rt 216), spanning the Bullard Brook, was dedicate to Willard and named "Pont A. - Willard - Christie"
In 1958, he and his wife Rose, moved to Thetford mines.

He passed away on 28 November 1966, aged 72, Thetford Mines, Quebec. He is buried at Christ Church Cemetery, Saint-Jean-de-Brébeuf, Chaudiere-Appalaches Region, Quebec, Canada. He is buried in Christ Church Cemetery, Saint-Jean-de-Brebeuf (Lower Ireland), Chaudiere-Appalaches Region, Quebec, Canada.
