Biography

Martha Christie was born in 1769, probably in Ireland. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Martha married Samuel Johnston Sr. (1768-1852), likely before their first child, Anne Johnston (1791-1864), in 1791, in Ireland. [1] [2]

The family emigrated from Ireland to Canada, in 1822-1823 or around 1826 and settled in Ireland, Megantic, Quebec. [3] [2]

Martha Christie Johnson died 9 January 1852, aged 83 years. She was buried 11 January in the parish of St-Adrien-d'Ireland, Church of England, Christ Church Cemetery, Mégantic, Quebec. [5] [6]
