"Joseph Churchill (Joseph, Josiah). Born in 1690. Settled in Bolton, Conn., in 1725. He was one of the leading men of the town, and was a selectman 1728-1734, and held many other offices of responsibility. He died in Bolton, Feb. 12, 1768. Married, January ,1714, Lydia Dickerman, daughter of John, of Hatfield, Mass. We have record of only the following children born in Bolton:
Joseph Churchill died on 12 Feb 1768 and is buried in Bolton Center Cemetery, Bolton, Connecticut next to his widow Lydia, who died November 15, 1781 at the age of 91. His gravestone spells his surname as " Churchel ".
