Jonas Clark married Phebe Lyon, daughter of Peter Lyon and Joanna Clark.
Phebe was born circa 1770s likely in Essex County, New Jersey. [3] She may have died 1837. She is said to have been buried near Devil's Chimney in Ohio. [4] [5]
Jonas Clark and his family apparently resided in Westfield Township, Essex Co. (now Union Co.), NJ. He was a likely a property holder and farmer. [6]

Jonas's father, Jeremiah Clark, served for New Jersey as a Lieutenant for Essex County, New Jersey. [7]

Wife, Phebe, 2 cows, 1 hog, 6 sheep, all household furniture; also use of land hereafter given to my four daughters, until said daughters are 21. Said daughters, Joanna, Mariam, Hariette and Betsy, 11 acres on northwest side of road. Rest of real estate to son, Jeremiah, he paying to my son, Peter, $50, and to son, Reuben, $250, after he is 21, and to son Jonas, $375, after 21 and to daughter Polly Crane $25 in one year after my death. To said Joanna and Mariam each 1 heifer. Rest of personal estate to be sold. Executors: son Jeremiah [Clark] & David Osborn of Scotch Plains. Witnesses: Andrew Rogers, Israel Vail, Jacob Vail.

Jonas Clark died 21 March 1816 likely in Westfield Township, Essex County (now Union Co.), New Jersey. He is buried in the Presbyterian Church Burial Grounds in Westfield, Union County, New Jersey. [11]

5. Jeremiah Clark b 23 May 1791 in Westfield, Essex Co. (now Union Co.), NJ; married in the Westfield Presbyterian Church on 29 February 1812 at age 20 to Rachel Hawkins, dau/o John Hawkins. Jeremiah was a legatee in his father's will and one of the executors of his father's will. [12] Jeremiah Clark, wife, and 4 sons were enumerated in Fulton Township, Hamilton Co., OH in the 1830 Census. Jeremiah died 23 June 1833 at 42 years, 1 month in Hamilton County, Ohio. Buried Duck Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Madisonville, Hamilton County, Ohio. They were the parents of four children: Reuben Clark, James Polk Clark (1817–1901), Abraham Clark, and John Hawkins Clark. [13] [14] [15]
