Biography

George Washington Clark was born on March 26, 1879^[1] in Missouri. He was the son of Alfred Clark and Sarah (Russell) Clark, Doty.

He married Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" Gatlin on March 27, 1898 in Hill County, Texas.^[2] Children:

1. Mary Charlotte Clark (1899-1980)^[3]
2. Charles 'Louie' Clark (1902-1984)
3. William Major Clark (1906-1988)^[4]
4. Myra Lee Clark (1911-2002)
5. Lulu Leona Clark (1914-2002)^[5]

They made their home in Hill County Texas in 1920, where he was a farmer, and Lizzie was taking care of the home and children, Louie-17, Willie-13, Mira Lee-8, and Lula L-5.^[6]

He died on June 22, 1929, at the age of 51, in McAdoo, Dickens County, Texas,^[7] and was buried inthe McAdoo Cemetery.^[1]
