Anna Robinson Stidger and Dalton Frank Clarke were married in 1909 in Marshall County, West Virginia,[1]

Draft Registration

World War 1 - June 5, 1917 Washington County, Pennsylvania

When he registered for the World War 1 Draft, Dalton Clarke said he was 29 years old, born on October 25, 1887, in Kansas. Dalton's middle name is either Frank or Trank. He lived at 170 Stilson Ave., Washington County, and worked for himself. He was married with four children. Dalton was tall and of medium build, with light blue eyes and light brown hair.
Dalton signed the form under protest. A note on the form says: "Deponent refused to state specific grounds in answer to Question 12, but said he claimed exemption generally." Question 12 asks whether you claim exemption and, if you do, the specific grounds for the exemption.[2]

World War 2 - 1942 Madison, Dane, Wisconsin

When he registered for the World War 2, Dalton Trank Clarke said he was 54 years old, born on October 25, 1887, in Aulne, Kansas. He lived at 3306 Gregory Street in Madison. He worked as a salesman for Quaker Hill, Newark "NY."[3]

In 1900, Frank Clark, 43 b. Pennsylvania June 1856, worked as a carpenter. He lived in a place he rented with his wife Sophie E., 32 b. November 1864 Ohio, and four children b. Kansas: Verna M., 16 b. September 1883; Jennie M., 14 b. December 1885; Dalton T., 12 b. October 1887; and Ned H., 9 b. January 1891. Frank's parents were born in Pennsylvania, while Sophie's father was born in New York and her mother in Ohio. A boarder, Geo Wilson, 30 b. Pennsylvania, was living with the family.[4]

In 1910, Dalton F. Clark, 22 b. Kansas, worked as a traveling agent, wholesale book. He lived in a place he rented at 801 North "I" with his wife Anna S., 19 b. West Virginia. The couple has been married "0" years. Both of Daltons' parents and Anna's mother were born in Kansas, while Anna's father was born in West Virginia. Sister Nona P. Stidger, 23 b. Colorado, is living with Dalton and Anna. [5]

In 1920, Dalton T. Clark, 32 b. Kansas, worked as the President of a grocery company. He lived in a place he rented at 1357 48th St. with his wife Annie S., 29 b. West Virginia, and five children: Dalton S., 9 b. Washington; son L. Read, 7 b. Pennsylvania; Jeannette E., 6 b. Pennsylvania; Eleanor J., 4 b. Pennsylvania; and Clara Virginia, 0 [3/12]. Tow boarders were living with the family: Millard Price, 50 b. Maryland; and Ella Price, 47 b. Missouri. Dalton's father was born in Pennsylvania and his mother in Kansas, while Annie's father was born in West Virginia and her mother in Kansas.[6]

1930 US Federal Census Brooklyn, Kings, New York

In 1930, Dalton Clark, 42 b. Kansas, worked as a hosiery manager. He lived in a place he rented at 1910 Kings Highway with his wife Anne S., 39 b. West Virginia, and two children: Clare V., 10 b. Illinois; and Dalton S., a hosiery salesman, 20 b. Washington. Daughter-in-law, wife of Dalton S., Marjorie Clark, 21 b. Illinois, was also living with them. Father Dalton was 21 and Annie S. 19 when they were married.[7]

1940 US Federal Census Santa Monica, Los Angeles, California

In 1940, Dalton F. Clark, 50 b. Kansas, worked as a salesman of bottled water. He lived in a place he rented at 1668 Seventh Street with his wife Anne S., 49 b. West Virginia. In 1935, they were living in Madison, Dane, Wisconsin.[8]

Death

Dalton Clarke died in August 1969. His last Social Security benefit was sent to Hollywood, Broward, Florida, USA.[9] The Florida Death Index shows Dalton's middle initial as "T."[10]
