Elizabeth (Clark) Anthony was a Virginia colonist.

Elizabeth Clark was the daughter of Christopher and Penelope Clark. She married Joseph Anthony. It is said that "She became a Quaker preacher and rode back through the wilderness preaching the gospel. She is said to have made the trip back to Virginia three times." [1]

Her Father's Will

From will of father Christopher Clark, Louisa Co, Virginia, dated Aug 14, 1741, proved May 28, 1754: "7th I give to my loving daughter Elizabeth Anthony four hundred acres of land in Goochland Co. on Foster Creek on South Fork of James River, two young negroes Moll and Jenny, ---- cows and calves, one feather bed and furniture." [5]

Death

It said that she "lived to be 105 years of age and saw 300 of her descendants. After the death of her husband, she moved from Virginia to Wilkes Co., Ga., and lived on Broad River. It is said that she died in Franklin Co."[1]

The year of birth for this Elizabeth Anthony nee Clark is said to be 1720 . . . the six youngest children currently attached here are said to have been born in 1761, 1763, 1765, 1767, 1769, and 1771 . . . that would mean she gave birth to at least five children in her forties and one after she turned fifty, that being Judith (Anthony) Ware (1771-1856) . . .
