Biography

Isaac was born in 1676 in New London, the Connecticut Colony. He was the son of John Clark and Mary Burnham. Isaac m. Miriam Tracy and they r. Norwich, CT.

Probate

His will is dated 14 March 1751 and proved on 24 April 1751 in Norwich. He mentions his wife Miriam, his sons Isaac (eldest), Zepheniah, Oliver, Nathan, and Abel, and his daughters, Miriam Meech, Eunice Starkweather, Esther Puffer, and Joannah Blunt.[1]

His date of death, 13 April 1751 is recorded in the heading of his inventory taken on 3 May 1751.[1]

Enslaved persons

He mentions two enslaved black people in his will, Esan, and Flora.[1]

Flora continued her enslavement with his daughter Miriam, after his wife's decease.
Efan continued his enslavement between his two sons, Isaac (1/3 share)and Abel (2/3 share)

I don't think he is with the correct parents since his parents and all of his siblings were born in Ipswich.

Vital Records of Norwich Connecticut, 1659-1848, Part I. Hartford: Society of Colonial Wars in the State of Connecticut, 1913. Or a simple internet search on numerous sites will also verify this Isaac Clark to be the son of John Clark, who was the son of Thomas (the Tanner) Clark of Ipswich, MA

Clark-20779 and Clark-794 are not ready to be merged because: Most info is the same but the children are different...
