Biography
Birth
The birth of James Clark, son of the first James Clark in the New Haven Colony, is unknown. Many Ancestry trees give a date Oct 13, 1641, in New Haven. They cite an AGBI Index, and Find a Grave. The mentioned AGBI Index lists a birth about 1640, not a specific date. The [http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=29656248 Find a Grave Memorial has no stone, and there was no stone found in the 1930's when the Hale Collection of Cemetery Inscriptions was generated. There are no birth records as early as 1641, and James' baptism was not recorded either.
Christening
According to the Connecticut Church Records Index at the Connecticut Library and Archives, there were no James Clarks baptized in Milford, Connecticut in 1645, or in New Haven. Feb 1644/5 in Milford is the baptism of James' his first wife Deborah Peacock.[1]
Marriage
James married probably in New Haven, Deborah Peacock, daughter of John Peacock. She was baptized Feb 1644/5 and died at Stratford, Connecticut 14 Dec 1705 in her 61 yr. They were married prior to February 12, 1664 , when their first child was born.[2][3]
James married a second time, to Hannah, widow of Patrick Falconer, and daughter of Gov. William Jones. After James death, she married Sgt. John Booth, on 31 Jan 1714/5.[3]
NOTE: James of New Haven did not marry Abigail Lathrop
James' will was dated 1 July 1709 and proved in court 3 Feb 1713/4. Mentioned were his marriage agreement with Hannah Falconer; sons James, Joh, Isaac, Ephriam; daughters Sarah Janes, Deborah Jones, dau. Fullford, dau. Mary Clark; wife's dau. Hannah Falconer and wife's son Patrick Falconer. Mr William Janes, Mr. Isaac jones and Abraham Fulford appealed.[12]
Burial
James is probably buried at the Old Congregational Cemetery in Stratford. His first wife Deborah's gravestone is there.

June 7: This profile is filled with Ancestry tree perpetuated misinformation. I have made copious notes on the incorrect information. I plan on returning to this profile in the next few days and correct it. Objections?
There's definitely an error on this profile, perhaps too many merges with James Clarke. Do NOT believe that James of New Haven was the same man as James of Plymouth (who married Abigail La/Lothrop.
Merilee, There is a problem with this profile. Abigail Lathrop/Lothrop who married James Clark(e) remained in Massachusetts. Her husband died in Scituate in 1703, and she died in 1723.
