Biography

Esther/Hester Clark, the daughter of John Clark, was christened on March 1, 1645.[1] Her father died when she was but three. Certain affairs related to Hester and her siblings were addressed in court on January 10, 1658. Samuel and Abigail, then 14 years old, were allowed to choose guardians, who accepted. However, while Hester expressed a desire to have Nicholas Elsey as her guardian, her request was postponed because she was not yet 14.[2]

Nevertheless, in court on February 1, 1658, Hester's share of her father's estate was committed to Nicholas Elsey "whom she nominated as her guardian". Her share consisted of 18 pounds, 13 shillings, and 11 pence.[2]

Hester married Deacon Isaac Nichols, son of John & Grace Nichols, on August 15, 1672 in Stratford, Connecticut.[1] She was sometimes known as Esther; and she and Isaac appear as "Dea. Isaac and Esther (Clark) Nichols" as the parents of Abigail Clark who married Edward Riggs on January 5, 1708.

Hester (Clark) Nichols died on January 5, 1717 in Derby, New Haven County, Connecticut. Her husband died in 1713. Son Samuel was administrator per probate records.

Clark-710 and Clark-37941 do not represent the same person because: Spouses do not match. Parents of Isaac Nichols differ.

Clark-37941 and Clark-710 appear to represent the same person because: These two clarks are the same. They should be merged. Sam
