Obituary

Martha Ann (CLARK) BOGARD was born in Virginia, November 2, 1827, and died at the home of her son, Milton, two and one-half miles west of Bloomfield, Monday, April 6, 1908. At the age of one year she moved to Ohio, and from there to Greene County, Ind. She was married to William BOGARD, June 15, 1848. To this union were born eight children, four sons and four daughters, six of whom still survive. She united with the M. E. Church at Simpson Chapel in early life and continued an acceptable member until death. She lived a quiet home life bearing her trials and afflictions patiently, often expressing her willingness to die and be at rest. She lived over four score years and had witnessed many changes in the growth of the country. She leaves six children, a brother, and many friends to mourn their loss.

Religious services were held at the home, also at Simpson Chapel, conducted by Rev. E. H. WOOD, and the body was laid to rest in the old burying ground.[5]
