This profile is part of the Clark Name Study.

Samuel P. Clark was born on 1 October 1833 to John Clark and Malinda Thompson in Greene County, Indiana.[1][2][3][4][5]

Samuel married Mary Doney on 25 March 1856 in Greene County, Indiana.[3]

After Mary's death in 1865, Samuel married Nancy Carnshell on 2 January 1870 in Greene County, Indiana.[4][6]

Samuel died between 5th and 16th of June in 1875 and is buried at Simpson Chapel Cemetery in Scotland, Indiana.[7]

In his will, he left one-third of his land to his wife, Nancy Jane and the other two-thirds to his children by his first wife. In a land survey around 1879, the two pieces of land were recorded as owned by "Heirs of Sam'l Clark," 100 acres and "Nancy J. Townsend," 40 acres. Nancy had remarried by 1877.[8][9]
