Obituary: Parham, Jean Clark 86 03/04/1923 05/18/2009 Jean Clark Parham, a lifelong Oregonian, passed away on May 18, 2009. Born March 4, 1923, in West Woodburn to Albert L. and Helen S. Clark, Jean spent her early years in Portland and graduated from Terwilliger Elementary and Lincoln High School. Education was always important to Jean and she continued her studies at Oregon State College, graduating magna cum laude in 1945. She completed her master's degree in 1962. She undertook doctoral studies in textiles at University of Connecticut, Storrs in 1970. Jean taught home economics in the Lebanon and Corvallis School districts until 1982. While at Oregon State she met the man in her life, Rulon C. Parham, and they were wed in Portland in December 1944. Happiest when she was creating beauty through her needlework, weaving, quilting, crocheting and sewing projects, Jean was also renowned for her bountiful table and legendary desserts. Jean was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, John E. and James R. Parham; daughter, Mk P. Shean; granddaughters, Leigh Greschwill and Anne Parham; great-granddaughter, Alexandra Greschwill; and sister, Mrs. Carol Stout. Her husband, Rulon, preceded her in death in November 2005. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009, in the Riverview Abbey Mausoleum chapel.Published in The Oregonian on 5/27/2009
