Mary Clark was born in Middletown, Connecticut on February 10, 1733/4 [1][2], the only known child of Daniel Clark and Mary Wilcox; her mother died March 6, 1733/4, at Middletown, Connecticut.
On August 23, 1753, in Middletown, Connecticut, Mary married the Honorable Hugh White, Jr. [3][4]
Hon. Hugh White, as he is designated in the records of the family, was the youngest son of Hugh White, and was born in Middletown, Connecticut, January 25, 1733. He "settled,” in Middletown, and married Mary Clark of the same town. All of his children were born there. His wife died in 1774. [5]
Hugh married second Mrs Lois Davenport, widow of Ebenezer Davenport, and daughter of Jonathan Marsh and Elizabeth Loomis. [7]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:
What source shows that this Mary Clark is the one that married Defoe? John and Mary Wilcox did have a daughter born in Middletown on the date shown, but likely no relationship to the Mary Wilcox that married in James Defoe and had children in Maryland.
Also, what is the source for her middle name?
Please add proper sources for the information.
Thank you.
Mary Clark wife of James Defoe was confused with Mary Magdalena Clark, born in February 10, 1733, in Middletown, Hartford Connecticut, a daughter of Daniel Clark and Mary Wilcox, married September 21, 1732, in Middletown. Mary Magdalena married Hugh White, Jr. on August 23, 1753 and is too young to be the mother of the children of James Taylor Defoe. <ref> https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/LC5L-XJR </ref>
