Maud Clark was born in March 1890, in Ohio.[1] Both of her parents were born in Ohio as well.[1]
Maude had at least three siblings, including Blanche, Inah (b. Aug 1894 in Iowa), and Ester (b. Aug 1896 in South Dakota).[1] By 1900, the family was residing in Bethel, Minnesota.
