When Shepard Clark was born on June 7, 1832, in Rush, Ohio, his father, Angus, was 49 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 41. He was married three times and had six sons and six daughters. Shepard had maintained farm interests as well as served as the president of North Lewisburg Bank for almost 35 years. He died on December 15, 1915, in his hometown, having lived a long life of 83 years, and was buried in North Lewisburg, Ohio. In his obituary published on 12/16/1915 in the Marysville Journal-Tribune, it was noted that Shepard had suffered from Bright's Disease (kidneys) for over three years and had been home bound. After his death, Shepard Clark's will was contested multiple times by a daughter, Blanche Marcia Clark McFarland, and a grandson, Ira Clark son of Alice Sarah Clark (Tomlin?).
