Research Notes

Richard Wood: James Collier's biography (which appears to get details of his wife's ancestry wrong) mentions that Ann Wood Clark is a niece of Richard Wood of the English Navy. Ann "Nancy" Clark's profile has her attached as daughter of Thomas Clark and Jennekje Wood, who married in Cecil County, Maryland, in 1710. Jennekje was the daughter of Joseph Wood and Francina (Herman) Wood. Joseph's profile says that Francina was born in Cecil, Maryland in 1662 and that they married in Maryland in 1684. Jennekje's brother, Joseph Wood, and Francina's brother, Casparus Augustus Herman, are included in Papenfuse's A Biographical Dictionary of the Maryland Legislature 1635-1789.[1]
