Biography

Sylvanus Clark was born 1 Feb 1691 at Wallingford, New Haven, Connecticut, the 6th child of Ebenezer and his first wife Sarah (possibly Peck) Clark. Sylvanus married Damaris Hitchcock at Wallingford on 22 Apr 1717. Damaris died in Nov 1731, and Sylvanus married second, Abiah Lines, daughter of Ralph and Abiah (Bassett) Lines.[1]

  2. Thankful Clark, born 21 Dec 1719
  3. Hannah Clark, born about 1722; baptized 6 Jun 1725.
  4. William Clark, baptized 31 Oct 1725
  5. Ephraim Clark, baptized 13 Sep 1730; died young.
Children with Abiah:
  1. Damaris Clark, baptized Sep 1735; married Abraham Doolittle.
  2. Abiah Clark, baptized Sep 1735; married Joshua Brooks; died 24 Sep 1790.

Clark-5455 and Clark-4498 appear to represent the same person because: Sylvanus Clark, son of Ebenezer, first married Damaris Hitchcock, then Abiah Lines. See https://archive.org/stream/newhavengenealog00jaco#page/409/mode/1up.
