Biography

William Clarke was born about 1634. On July 7, 1668, he was mentioned in a court record as having sold his right to certain land in Cape Cod. In 1684, William Clarke of Plymouth was granted a lease for bass fishing at Cape Cod for 30 pounds per annum.

William married (1) Sarah Wolcott in Plymouth on March 1, 1659/60[1] and had several children.[2] Sarah and several of her children were killed March 18, 1676 during King Philip’s War. He married (2) Hannah Griswold on March 7, 1677/8, in Saybrook, Connecticut (recorded also at Plymouth)[2][3][4][5][6] and had four children.[2] He married (3) Abiah Wilder on August 3, 1692, in Plymouth[7][8][9] and had one child.[2] William Clarke, the subject of this profile. died before March 28, 1720.

I worked with the profile manager of the other William Clark and reached agreement that Abiah Wilder is properly the spouse of this William Clark. I have added her, added some details for all three marriages, and added sources for those details.
