William named for his father was born in 1719 and died in 1721 aged two.
Thomas born 1720/1 and died December 1723 aged two.
William born about March 1723 and died November 1723 aged eight months. This last son was born when Sarah was 34 years old.
All five sons died in infancy and daughters Alice and Sarah would live into adulthood, but would still predecease both of their parents. Only Mary, the wife of Samuel Cooper survived her parents, and William consequently left his entire estate to Samuel:
"in full confidence that he will take care to provide for his Wife my daughter an ample and sufficient Maintenance and Support should she survive him..." [2]
Sarah died on Monday 31 July 1758 in her 69th year:
Norwich, August 2: On Monday died Mrs. Lovick, wife of William Lovick of this City[3] She was buried at St Stephen's church on 3 August 1758. [4]
When William died in the following year, a fine marble wall memorial to both him and Sarah was erected in St Stephen's church: [5]
To the Memory of a Man
whose Countenance at all Times
expressed Benevolence Blended with Humility
and whose good & charitable Deeds,
though by Himself industriously concealed
were sensibly felt to the Relief and Subsistance of Many.
