Biography

Adam was born in 1847. He engaged in farming and lived near his brothers place. He was married twice, first to Sarah Clemens and after her decease he married Nettie Carpenter. "Adam Clemens passed away at the age of 83 years. 11 months and 28 days, nearly 84 years, after a long illness. He lived for many years in Leighton Twp. and was well known. Some years ago, Adam sold his farm and went to California to be near a son and family. He later sold his property and moved back to Leighton where he purchased the M.E. property where his wife passed away. He had been in failing health since and was given the best of care by his daughter, Mrs. Perrault, and his son and family from Chicago. He was fortunate in one thing, that he had no pain during his illness. The funeral will be at 2:00pm at his home. The relatives have the sympathy of their friends in the passing of a real man." - Banner, Hastings Michigan
